PBR Streetgang
A record that always reminds you of Ibiza?
You have travelled all over the world, what is the most unusual food you have ever tried?
Hmmm…insects in bottles of tequila. Lots of bottles.
The dish that reminds you most of your childhood?
Spanish Chicken..something my Mother used to make. It’s just chicken in rice with tomatoes garlic and onions, come to think of it, it’s not overtly Spanish at all – but that’s what it was called and if you put in front of me now I’d definitely be having seconds
Do you cook? If so, what is your signature dish?
Yeah, I love cooking after making music its probably the I spend most of my time doing when I’m at home. I can make a few things well but the thing I get asked to make the most is Yuk Sung, so I suppose that’s a signature if I have one…Tom is great at making pies, he’s good at lots of them. Always helps in the cold Northern winters
Your guilty pleasure food?
I love a good greasy burger now and then…cheese, bacon, pickles, chilli, the more topping the better
Your favourite restaurants in Ibiza…
Oooh I’m not sure if I should give this information away, some are closely guarded secrets! In Ibiza town, La Bodega does great tapas and it’s not crazy expensive. Eating water side, Fish Shack at the end of Talamanca Bay doesn’t really get much better for fresh grilled fish.
If you want eat with on of the best views on the island, paella at Es Boldado just off Cala D’hort is always a great experience and the ham and cheese at Boutique Hostal Salinas is always worth prizing yourself off Salinas beach for…
And your favourite restaurant in the world?
Oooh good question…we love food but it’s not like we’re full on gourmands or anything! Fino in London is probably still my favourite food experience, I can still taste the pork belly…amazing…like noting else
If you could have a masterclass with any master chef…who would it be and why?
GlynePurnell – love his cooking style and he’s a Brummie too so win win
What countries do you love returning to, to sample their cuisine?
All of them to be honest, it’s one of our favourite perks of the job being able to try food from different parts of world. Have to mention Italy though, we’ve always had good food karma there…
Has a DJ ever cooked great food for you?
When we were in Berlin one of the residents at Renate Jan (Peak & Swift) cooked us “German Spaghetti” before we went to play at the club, that was great.
A dish you just cannot stomach?
Anything with celeriac or fennel…blurrrgh
