The perfect breakfast would be…
Dutch pancakes with strawberries, roasted almonds and honey
The most unusual thing I have ever eaten…
Oysters – I know they’re not that unusual but to me the taste and structure is really an unusual thing!
The dish that reminds me of my childhood…
My grandma’s strawberry pudding
A piece of food you just can’t stomach?
Oysters! Disgusting!
Who taught you to cook?
I’m not really a great cook but the few things I know I’ve learned of my wife
Your 3 favourite restaurants in Haarlem are…
1. My house! My wife is a great cook
2. Restaurant 139 (below)
3. Pizza Papi – they have the best pizzas
Your favourite restaurant in Asia, North America and Europe…
In Asia I just really like the little Warungs – they have the best stuff that you’ll never get in a restaurant
In North America I’m still searching for my favourite restaurant. I’ve been there quit a lot but there’s no place that really got to me
In Europe, Relae in Copenhagen – the chef used to be the sous chef of Noma. The vibe is really laidback and the food is just amazing
You love playing festivals!! What is the worst thing you have ever eaten at one…?
I once had a really bad hotdog, the bread was old, the sausage was just made of rubber. So I normally just skip festival food
A DJ that has surprised you with their cooking skills…what did they cook?
Nicky Romero cooked me a really nice pasta in Miami!
Your guilty pleasure food. You know you shouldn’t but you always do…
I try to eat as little meat as possible for various reasons. But sometimes I do and it tastes really really good
What is your signature dish?
My famous vegetable pasta. You take as many veggies as you have in the fridge, chop them and mix them with the pasta. I use to eat like that all the time…until I met my wife. That’s why I never cook
If you could have a master-class with a celebrity chef, who’d you pick and why?
Ferran Adrià of course! He’s a boss and changed the culinary industry big time
When I am a DJing extended sets I usually call out for…
Just water. Boring but true
Dead or alive – 5 people from history/celebrities you would invite around for dinner…
Michael Jackson, Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, Ghandi, Bill Withers –they are all legends and game changers for the world
A dish you have yet to master…
A good curry. Love to eat them but I don’t have clue how to prep them!
The country you love returning to, to sample their cuisine the most…
Italy – I don’t have to explain why!
Ibiza…
A beautiful island like many others in the world
When you think of Ibiza and food you think of…
Good fresh seafood
My favourite restaurant on the island…
I forget the name of the place and it was not because of the food, but it was at a nice garden and at the end of the meal we got a short neck massage – that was just amazing
The best sunset spot for a cold drink…
Any place where the vibe is nice.
An album you love driving around the island listening to…
Alpha Blondy!
A perfect 24 hours in Ibiza would be…
Have dinner at a nice place, playing Ushuaia listening to Disclosure at the after party, have breakfast while the sun comes up and fly back home
A record that always reminds you of Ibiza…
Vengaboys ‘We’re Going To Ibiza
And finally – can you tell us what is coming out next from you studio wise and when you are next in Ibiza…
My Major Lazer remix of the song ‘Powerful’, my own release with Wiwe ‘Trouble’ and ‘Just Yeah’ on Spinnin’ Deep. I’m playing the 25th of August at Ushuaia With Hardwell – very excited!
