My Digital Enemy
Brighton in da house…
You have travelled all over the world, what is the most unusual food you have ever tried?
Serg – I have eaten some really unusual food in my life! Ant’s eggs in Laos…
…deep-fried scorpion & crickets in Thailand, Raw Monkfish liver & sea urchin eggs in Japan! I like to try everything once. Sea urchin eggs were horrible. They looked like slugs and tasted of seawater.
Kieron – I tried ducks tongue in Thailand, it wasn’t the best – I would much rather of had the breast!
The dish that reminds you most of your childhood?
S – Dairylea cheese and tomato sandwiches
K – I was brought up in Birmingham and ate a lot of curry when I was growing up, something I still do to this day, so I would have to say Chicken Tikka Madras.
Do you cook? If so, what is your signature dish?
S – I do a killer roast dinner. I have perfected my roast potatoes. Crunchy on the outside and fluffy in the middle!
K – I can cook a bit, I would have to say my chill con-carne is the nuts!
Your guilty pleasure food?
S – Gourmet Jelly beans.
K – Chocolate and marzipan.
Your favourite restaurants in Brighton…
S – The Coal Shed for steak (below), The Regency for seafood and Pub Duvan for Sunday roast.
K- The Balti express is amazing but its takeaway only!!!
And your favourite restaurant in the world?
S – I think the most satisfying meal I have ever had was in Las Vegas in the Luxor. It was a steak house, I’m not sure of the restaurants name but the food and service was amazing. I’d love to go back to eat there again.
K – The Leopold Cafe in Mumbai best curry ever!!
If you could have a masterclass with any master chef…who would it be and why?
S – Jamie Oliver. He comes across as a bit of a lad and seems like he would be a good laugh.
K – Madhur Jaffery, really want her to cook for me!!
What countries do you love returning to, to sample their cuisine?
S – My first choice is Japan, I love Sushi. The street food in Thailand & India also gets my mouth watering.
K – Thailand is great also Ibiza is my favourite for Tapas!! I love chorizo and red wine!!
A dish you just cannot stomach?
S – Raw squid. It’s like eating rubber with a layer of slime on one side.
K – Most fish dishes but the worst in the world for me would be Oysters! They look like cold slugs from the sea.
Has a DJ ever cooked great food for you?
S – Tim Healey once cooked us a killer Bangers & Mash
K – Yeah my partner in crime Serg cooks a wicked roast dinner!!
